St. Mary Magdalene: Apostle to the Apostles

Mary Magdalene is considered a saint by the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Lutheran churches with a feast day of July 22nd. The Eastern Orthodox churches also commemorate her on the Sunday of the Myrrh Bearers which is the second Sunday after Easter. Mary is honored as such because she was one of The Holy Women who went to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus after His crucifixion.
